Chicken Maiden
The subject matter of Chicken Maiden is born from my own experience getting to know and love my three young hens. The single panel of handblown golden-hued glass is painted with glass enamels, depicting a young woman tenderly holding a hen, with a classical backdrop of forest, mountains, and a stylized sun. An arched canopy of the moon and stars blankets the image. The framework is a repurposed wooden box out of which an opening has been cut. The opening is edged in copper and beads and holds the painted glass. The face of the box is metal-leafed. Repurposed drawer pulls are the silver feet. Comes with an 8 foot clear-coated silver cord with line switch and a 4 watt compact fluorescent bulb.
