Kaleidescope Butterfly fused glass panel
Meant to hang in front of a window, this 8.5 x 8.5 inch glass panel was fired once to fuse the glass, another two times to fire on layers of glass enamels, and a final time to adhere the gold china paint. All of the color is from different pieces of glass fused together. It is edged in silvery zinc with soldered stainless steel loops, ready to hang. Let me know how long you'd like the hanging wire.
One photo shows the panel backlit by natural light when hung in a window, and the other without light coming through it, such as at night when hung in a window. In the night photo you can see that the glass has a slight milkiness to it. You can see the china paint only when light is not coming through the glass.
This was a practice piece for the one included in 2-sided Antique Lantern which is in the Illuminated Sculpture Gallery.
